Instead of the typical New Years Resolutions like going on a diet (which I will be doing regardless), cutting out carbs and becoming a “yes” person, I’m focusing on my travel resolutions for 2017.

Collaborate More

Whether it’s with a fellow travel blogger, like @marinacomes featured in her awesome image above, or a tourism board, I want to join forces to work together and promote incredible destinations around the world using our ever-growing social media and blogging skills. I’ve collaborated with amazing restaurants in New York like Tortaria and 67 Burger. I’ve done some product promotions with HelloFresh, Nounos Creamery, Try The World and more. Don’t get me wrong, I love free food and testing new products but I’m hoping for some more media trips and promoting specific locations in 2017. If you’ve got the same resolution, visit my Contact Me page.

Travel Locally

I’ve been to over 25 countries and six out of the seven continents but only a few places within America. Instead of long haul flights, I want to explore more of what my own country has to offer. My favorites so far include New Orleans and San Fransisco. I think a road trip to some of the National Parks is next up on my list. Share your favorite places to travel to within the United States in the comment section!

Invest In Quality Luggage

There is nothing worse than getting off a flight and realizing your bag is in a million pieces, the hard top is scratched and a wheel is missing. I can’t count how many times airlines have made me check my carryon luggage and it’s come out damaged. So in 2017, my resolution is to find quality, affordable and durable pieces of luggage. Anyone have a favorite brand for carryon or checked baggage?

Stop Planning So Much

Don’t get me wrong, planning where to stay and finding a few good restaurants to enjoy is key to a good trip, in my opinion. But I often fall victim to over planning and booking tours and don’t have a spare minute to explore places I normally wouldn’t. I think I’m missing out on a lot of hidden gems. So in 2017, my travel resolution is to plan less and explore more.
